Cubby hole ideas

Currently still the manual. But being as I look at that once a year, this seems like a bit of a waste. How easy is it to run cables to?

so the horrid hole with the horrid edge that feels cheap in the roof behind our interior lamps...some of you have done the drawer mod which looks cool...

i have just ordered this, purely to faff with and see...i think she may just fit in with some love...

spare usbs, a leisure battery voltage at a glance..and a 12v (fag lighter style) socket.. (handy for charging or supplying various things)

quite intrigued to see how it goes... thoughts?

it was pure luck...i saw a picture of one simular and started nosying on amazon...done a fair bit of measuring and thinking about overlap area on edge.. think we may just get away with it... we'll see...

I'm thinking...a loom made up , send it all direct to leisure....you can keep an eye on its voltage and when running it'll show what the smart charger is doing, also the other bits are handy when just out and about, and should you leave anything in it..(we have a cool bag thing for food that runs off a fag lighter style plug) you know it wont affect starter battery..
also..it saves opening up the rear pod to start up the main consumer unit all the time for power...think quick days, journeys out...everyday stuff.

I bought one of those to try and do similar. The unit was a little bit too big for my cubby hole. So, my converter is making me a little panel with the Switch, Digital Clock and Voltage Indicator (Leisure Battery) installed.

I took the 'hle piece out to make the gap a bit larger, cut a piece of ply, covered it in a suede material and mounted my heater control there.

@Deaky has done similar with just switches and possibly a volt meter, I can't remember but it certainly makes an afterthought of a cubby hole into something useful although. Personally I try to reduce the amount of cables on display and would just run switches or displays for components located elsewhere.

Its more for just when parked up without having to open pod and start turning lots on..
and to make use of a rough edged poor finished hole..

If the cubby had a door it would be hand for bits and bobs and could be safely used when traveling.
With the brains here I'd hoped I'd see something I could use to make use of (at present) this useless cubby.

No longer available though.

I bought one them. Worked great until it had an overnight discussion with my Eberspacher after it fell out of the cubby and landed next to the heater outlet! :(
