Thought this may be handy for someone.
I needed to cut holes for parking sensors in a new bumper. The oem sensors require an 18.2mm hole. Luckily you can buy a hole punch for exactly this job. You could obviously drill a hole with a bit, or step cutter and finish it off with a file, but I'm sure if i was to do that they would end up more egg shaped than round.
VW kindly mark the rear of the bumper where the sensors would go so it's easy to get a pilot hole dead center. Then take it out to 8mm. Then use the punch, cutting side on the outside of the bumper. Tighten up the 13mm bolt and job done. Very easy and a very neat and tidy circle that needs no dressing afterwards.
