So best replace both, it might look very odd otherwise, if you can't match the old one!Blue tinge means a 'white' aftermarket bulb, to get away from the yellowy standard look.
I've been to halfords and he told me it's led bulb and they can't touch it as its not original. I've just tried to get it out to check the bulb but can't figure out how to get it out, whether it's twisted in or pushed etc. I'll have a better look tomorrow now. Thank youBlue tinge means a 'white' aftermarket bulb, to get away from the yellowy standard look.
Hi. Don’t know if you could give me any advice too, I have the same problem, the DRL On the near side has gone out with the warning light now on the dashboard, behind the light is the battery. I took this out but the bulb seems to sit below which I couldn’t get access to. The van was in vw for a service so I asked them if they would replace the bulb ,Depends on your headlights. Do you have H4 (with the DRL in the large reflector near the centre) or H7 with (DRL below the low beam reflector)?
They use different but standard bulbs and can be changed with reasonable ease.

Yours are H7. There is an issue on these DRLs where the contacts can fail where the bulb holder attaches to the reflector. The fix is to remove the old holder, and splice in a new one, hardwired inside the light.Hi. Only to say it was a wiring fault and they would need to take the bumper off to get to the light, quoted me £280 to do this job.
Personal I think they are lying and it’s nothing to do with the wiring, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sean.
Are mine H7 by looking at my pics.

So from what you’re saying this is a common fault which could well be true, I would still like to try changing the bulb 1st. Can you give me advice on how to get to the bulb please .Yours are H7. When removing the top of the air box with the 4 clips, do you also loosen the large hose clip and pull the pipe off so it can be removed completely?FWIW, I’ve replaced the DRLs twice in mine without removing the headlight. It’s awkward but certainly do-able. I removed the top of the air box for the driver’s side.
Yes, and the electrical connection. When removing the top of the air box with the 4 clips, do you also loosen the large hose clip and pull the pipe off so it can be removed completely?
I do, but make sure to remove the electrical connector so as not to stress the wires on the air sensor. When removing the top of the air box with the 4 clips, do you also loosen the large hose clip and pull the pipe off so it can be removed completely?
