Based on a factory build, approx 4 month lead time, dealer discount inc a £1750 reduction for taking finance from VW (which I'll pay off within a couple of months of taking delivery) plus 2 free services the below spec is coming in about 26k inc VAT, for conversion to a day/camper.

White T6 SWB Highline 150 petrol
Bulkhead delete
Tailgate with heated glass and wiper
Driver & passenger captain chairs, armrests, lumbar & swivel.

VW configurator has it just short of 32k

How does this price/discount sound to those who have negotiated with dealers recently ?

I was offered -8% on the capital cost of my specified vehicle and also the £1,750 deposit contribution if I took VW finance. That was in March of this year.

There was no more for them to give, as the dealership let me 'walk' at that

8% is a 'typical' discount, you can push for 10% and some places will give it but not that many
The most i have heard of from a main dealer is 12% but you would be very lucky indeed to find any main dealer prepared to do that

I got 10.5% discount and the £1750 dealer contribution on top, this was end of Jan 18, picked my van up end of April.

Be careful when it comes to paying off the finance. I went this route for the same reason - greater discounts. Phoned the finance company a couple of days after picking the van up. They said it’s been either 8 or 15 days (can’t remember which it was) since you signed the agreement and therefore you are a day over the threshold for cancelling the agreement without penalty. I argued that I had literally only just picked up the van, and they couldn’t seriously be looking to charge me interest for a month (equates to a few hundred pounds) when it was a day out. Fortunately they relented.
So if you plan to do this, be clear on what the time frame for cancelling without penalty is, or you will face a significant charge.

I got straight 12% discount 22 December 2017. Finance deal was £1500.00 then, + 2 free services. Shook hands and coughed up a monkey for the deposit. Long list of extras on a LWB 150DSG Van. Anywayz, hadn't heard diddly squat for 5 weeks. No replies to emails, so popped in for a chat. Turns out the spec they forwarded to VWCV was all Pete Tong, so had to re-order. Now though the finance discount was £1750.00 c/w 2 free services, and I got a new set off Devonports chucked on for free, and the Claytons placed in the load bay for me to have. I put down enough deposit to cover the finance , so basically it's 4 -years interest free. I'm happy with that.

Most dealers will easily give you 10% plus the current finance deal too.

Are you a member of any associations that have deals setup? Potentially could get a larger discount.

I ordered pretty much the exact same van in January. Got 11% plus £1750 on PCP and 4.8% apr, but not the 2 Services. Should be here in 3 weeks

They also have one in stock pretty much as per your spec Used Volkswagen Vans | Details - Volkswagen Transporter PV 2.0TSI 150Eu6 T28 Highline BMT SWB - Exeter : Volkswagen UK Carrs Van Centre (Exeter)
I got the 2 services chucked in, as I initially ordered the van on £1500.00 deposit contribution + 2 free services. In Jan 2018 the deal changed to £1750.00 contribution without the services. But as they messed up my order I got both offers from them.

When I was shopping around. Latest offer at most dealers was if you took out finance, no matter how small. You could get £1750 plus 2 free services.

I personally didn't go for this. Fortunately I managed to get an even better deal through a trade association I'm with.

Good man. Unfortunately thro' lack of time to shop around, I popped down to my local dealer 2 miles away to purchase. I didn't even enquire elsewhere apart from a couple of brokers who were useless. So I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. At my age convenience plays a big part in decision making!!

It’s big and white! Looks great, ideal base for a camper. The salesman said they had a fair few pre reg ones from March as the outgoing manager had ordered a lot of stock. Will get mine on 1st June too, fortunately the dealership is a 5 minute walk from work
