I was being cheeky! SWMBO would shoot me if I bought another set of wheels as I bought tyres just before Xmas!

For context, I’ve just bought 4 davenport wheels / tyres (2 tyres were new and one wheel slightly damaged) for £120. Powdercoat in gunmetal £160 and 4 new Wildpeaks for £500. So if you omit the powdercoating its cost me £620 to get onto brand new A/T winter tyres.

One thing not stated is the age of the tyres on sale (all have the week/year embossed into the sidewall). Once they are 5/6 years old then virtually worthless IMHO.

Interesting no one has asked the age question and are happy to make offers without this knowledge. Always my first question. Some people will say they’ve been stored correctly, wrapped in clingfilm in the dark etc etc but like most things - age causes degradation. I’d be happy buying (and selling) tyres 2 or 3 years old but any older I’d rather have new tyres or sell cheaply with complete disclosure.
