Diagrams, Schematics & Wires -- How I Done It --

I will add my current system here for reference, purpose was building cheap and reliable system, hence currently solar panel will not be installed in a fix point, but connected to small power station as required.myown_schematics_el.png

- Aux Lifpo4 Battery & DC-DC & MPPT & LTD & LBP -

Here we have a LifPO4 battery setup.
The DC-DC charges when engine running.
The MPPT charges when sunny outside,
Lifepo4 LTD (low temp disconnect) of DC-DC via BMV712 relay contacts.
Lifepo4 LTD (low temp disconnect) of MPPT via BMV712 Temp sensor and VE-Direct.
Lifepo4 LBP (Low battery protect) via Victron 100A Smart battery protect.

Hello I am new to this forum so apologies not sure how to get into discussions , if you can help let me know , I have t6.1 and have had problems with AGM Leisure battery running them flat and split charger ( Sterling Power ) not charging the battery fully even after long drives , reading up on this forum it appears the regen start stop technology is great for charging LB to the point I was thinking to remove the Sterling Power DC/DC split charger and just fitting largest Lithium battery I can fit with AC/DC charger and just re charging it when it gets low from electric hook up. It mainly runs the fridge 3.5 amps with 200amp hour battery should last 3 to 4 days ? with the solar trickle charging.
I have MPPT solar charger 100Watts and I always wondered if the volts produce by the charger confused the split charger into thinking the battery was more charged than is really was ? I see on your diagram that you have an PV isolator why is that ? mine is permanently connected.
So my questions are:
1/ DC/DC split charger is to worth fitting ?
2/ Lithium battery is this the best option for LB ?
3/ I have AGM starter battery any conflict with fitting Lithium LB on a split charger
4/ Solar Isolator is this required ?
thanks in advance
Phil Mallen

Do you have any photos or a diagram of how you have wired it up currently? Also where the leisure battery is located.

In my t6 I simply removed the relay under the passenger seat & re-used the main battery wire from the factory leisure system into the ctek250 and also reused the ignition feed for power on.

Works great.

Hi my van is not factory set up its a UK conversion , see attached pictures which is the current AGM battery which is knacked due to me running too low , the split charger is also not working properly ( think it got fried when jump starting the van ) so starting again with new AC/DC charger Lithium battery and split charger that is more suitable for Regen alternator , the solar charger is permanently connected and applies 16 volts typically so does this confuse the split charger thinking the battery voltage is higher than is really is ? and not charging the battery.
looking at the Regen issue on this forum the charging levels are very on and off as the regen cuts in and out there is no longer a level voltage
any thoughts on what choice of equipment would be appreciate

regards
Phil

That's what a DC-DC charger is for it stabilises the voltage & also manipulates it to give the best charge profile to the battery. Mines connected to 4x leisure batteries & works great. That's my recommendation.

Do you know what that sterling unit is? Is it a dc-dc or a split relay?
Do you have any other batteries you can test it with? before buying new kit?
