Diesel Heater

I bought an all in one diesel heater for my campervan because I thought it would be easier than installing one myself. Now that I have it, I have read online that they are not actually good for campervans because supposedly they are prone to leaking carbon monoxide. Obviously I'd like to not die so I tried to return it but the company doesn't do refunds. Has anyone installed an all in one diesel heater before in their campervans? Has anyone had any issues? I was going to install it under my bed but theres not much room in there and I will lose a lot of storage

Did you order it online? In the UK, online shoppers have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel an order and return the item for a refund. This is known as "distance selling" and applies to all purchases made away from the seller's premises.

I bought it on Amazon but they won’t let me for some reason. I told them about the 14 day rule yesterday and then they said “let me connect you to an agent in the right department” and then never transferred me. I’ll try again today but if they don’t accept I suppose I could try going to my bank

I have one along with many others. Get a co alarm. A decent one. Then all will be ok
Disagree entirely - if the OP is referring to a device that is burning diesel inside the habitation area and thus potentially releasing CO into that area, then relying on a CO monitor ( irrespective of quality and how do you determine that?) for your personal safety is a very risky thing to do.

If you bought it on Amazon then return it as faulty or damaged, that will be accepted on the site, even if its not damaged they will have it back and you will be refunded by the time the company could argue!

After a similar experience with Amazon, I will only buy from Amazon if seller offers free returns.

I have tried. They are saying that I need to send them photos as evidence that it’s damaged. I will just email them photos anyway and say that it’s leaking gas. Hopefully they will refund. Worst case scenario, I just take apart the all in one casing and use the heater inside like a normal diesel heater

I didn’t realise until now that some sellers don’t offer returns. I bought with Amazon prime and it arrived the next day so I thought that I’d be able to send it back to the warehouse as usual. Will definitely make sure to check before buying things now

I'll be getting one soon. May be a bit more fiddley to mount outside but it's worth it for that peace of mind

As said previously - they are not suitable for mounting to a vehicle, use a normal heater.
You mean diesel heaters shouldn’t be inside a van? Loads of people install them and have no issue as long as it’s completely vented outside what kind of heater? Electric heaters take to much power

No - all in one heaters which is what this post was about originally. Use a normal diesel or petrol heater.

Just to state what might not be obvious...but an 'all in one' diesel heater is simply a regular diesel heater in a box with fuel tank etc. it is quite simple to remove the heater form the box. it could then be mounted in the factory location (under the floor, drivers seat) or somewhere else, ducting in to the cab.
