Diesel heaters and labels and the like.

My T5.1 Caravelle Exec has these labels in the drivers door jam.

I know the Webasto one is for the pre-heater, there’s a control panel for it up by the rear view mirror that I’ve never used but I know is there.
As far as I can work out, this kicks in itself when the temp is low to help get things nice n toasty under the bonnet quickly, is that right? I do think it’s working because those couple of properly chilly -12°C or so mornings a few weeks back, the windscreen just cleared in but 10 secs from turning the key.
Is there anything else to have to know about / do with it?

The bottom one is, I think, a diesel heater, like for when parked up or overnight… right? If so, shouldn’t there be a wee control panel for it somewhere?
And then same question for it really, anything I need to know/do with it?

Thanks a million in advance!

Edit: I should also have said that when we first got the vehicle (his name is Baxter) there was a very obvious loud FAANNNNNN that started up blowing in the saloon somewhere on startup for a minute or two before going quiet… that doesn’t happen now and I don’t know whether that’s because the leisure battery was removed?

The air heater ( Eberspacher ) will not work without a leisure battery normally. As it is a factory fit I would expect it to be controlled by the overhead console/display. You may or may not be able to operate it with a remote depending upon what was installed.

OK - that makes a lot of sense, thanks! The leisure battery had to come out to fit the swivel plate, I’m hoping to get some shims made to overcome that and pop the leisure battery back in though. It’s on the long todo list.

That also helps re likely being controlled from the overhead control unit from factory, but then wouldn’t the Webasto have a wee round control panel somewhere in the vehicle like I’ve seen on campers etc? Because there’s nothing like that anywhere as far as I can see.

The only additional thing in the vehicle is an inverter that ran off the leisure battery under the passenger seat, it too obviously being out of use for the moment.

The Webasto is likely to not have any control - it will be purely for low temperature and operates automatically.
Your air heater may be run from the starter battery but normally it would be from the leisure - was there any other connection other than the inverter to the leisure when it was removed?
The round Webasto controller that you refer to is a rheostat that is only used on the Webasto air heaters.

I have the top sticker on mine too. It has a rear heater unit in the van and I was told the diesel heater boosts the warm up when its cold (below a certain temp)

On Caravelles the webasto is a standard fitment and is used once the engine is on when it's cold to help with warming up the engine. No control panel.

The eberspacher is an option and is the auxiliary air heater - you should have a vent in the B pillar by the drivers seat for the hot air exit and the intake on the drivers door step. And as above it'll work off the leisure battery, from the roof control panel and/or remote if optioned.

OK great, thanks so much guys, that makes total sense.

We definitely do have those vents in the B pillar etc so happy days, the overhead panel is for the Eberspacher that was working but now isn’t because there’s no battery in there at present.

I don’t think there was anything else, but then… lol!

Here’s what it looked like before it was removed (and what it looks like out the back when all is tidy - ignore the Q Straint tie down hook).

Yeah that's the parking air heater control for the eberspacher.

Same as my T6 Caravelle.

My Caravelle had the option ticked for the parking heater and leisure battery but which also deleted the webasto heater.
