Diesel Parking heater modification

Hi all,

I have have all the factory ducting and factory mounts to install a diesel heater in the original factory position only T6.1. But I'm yet to buy the actual heater.

I know there is big debate about using a 2kw or 4kw heater. My mindset is to use as close to factory as I can. Eberspacher 3.5kw was the factory fit.

My biggest concern about what to buy is the heater units actual size. It would need to be the actual same dimensions as the original unit for the mount and ducting to actually workout.

What do I need to buy? The original one I have found Eberspacher no longer sell and when you look at the D2's and D4's they do so many different versions. What do I need to get it all to fit?

Webasto Air Top 3500, Evo 3900, Evo 40, Evo 5500, Evo 55 are all the same size as are the Eberspacher models above 3Kw. S2, M2, D2, D4 etc are all the same size.
It is only the smaller 2 Kw heaters that do not line up - such as Webasto Air Top 2000 models, the small Planar models etc.
These are all the same size for example:

Good stuff thank you, So which is the model to go for?

Don't go for 4kw. The VW Eberspacher has a power limiter. The non-VW 4kw Eber can lock itself due to overheating (too narrow ducting).
Go for 2kw and use additional ducting adapters.

Hi do you have any more information about the additional ducting adaptors please?
