Door mirror won’t adjust

We acquired our T6.1 camper earlier this month. It is a 23 plate van which is almost unused (2300 miles on odo when we picked it up). We collected it in the full knowledge that the passenger side door mirror neither adjusted nor folded in as it should, and I held back £500 of the purchase price pending the mirror issue being fixed. As a 23 plate van the mirror should be a warranty issue - and we thought it was likely to be an unplugged multi-pin connector.
The drivers side mirror works fine.
I took the van to the VW van centre for “diagnosis”. They said it needed a new “mirror unit”, and would get the parts and fix it under warranty.
I took the van again today (another 100 miles round trip) to have the new part installed - only for them to tell me that it still isn’t resolved.
So now I have a new appointment when they want the van for a couple of days to re-diagnose and, I hope, fix it.
So the question for the knowledgeable folks in these forums is this: Are there any “from experience” pointers which I could offer to the VW people to help ensure resolution?

Are you sure it hasn't been whacked and replaced with an aftermarket version?

Can't help any more, sorry.

maybe water has got into the door ECU?

My drivers door mirror on my T6 likes to forget to fold and usually a gentle push upwards on the bottom of the mirror housing helps jog it's memory.

It needs more than a push!
It is as if there is no power there at all. The remote adjustment doesn’t work, and the folding doesn’t either.
I really assumed it would be something simple!

As an endpoint to the story: the mirror is now fixed and working properly. The fault was in the door control module. When this was replaced the mirror (both mirrors) operate as they should. (Someone said that…..)
It took 3 return trips of 100 miles to get resolution at the Lookers VW van centre in Carlisle. One trip to diagnose. Another trip for a promised fix which didn’t work. Then another trip to take the van and leave it - they lent me a car. Lookers had the van for three days, then delivered it back to me with the mirror fixed. No cost to me (apart from fuel and time).
