Drain (most) fuel out of tank easily?

...

Just a bit of context.

Our higher van come to us with absolutely no fuel in it at all.

So we filled it up and used it. Now they want the van back, and it's full of fuel.

so I want to ciphon my 85 quids worth of fuel back out and put it in my other van.

Then they can have it back with the same amount of fuel it comes with.

So the question is how do I easily easily siphon the fuel from the tank from the fuel filler cap out into a 50L fuel container so I can pour it back into the other van?

I was under the impression there's an anti siphon trap in the filler neck but I don't know?

So is there some kind of pump or a pipe that I can push down the filler neck and then pump the fuel out?

I've got a few transfer pumps about.... Just not sure on the pipe to the tank bit?

Answers on a post card . . . . Or bellow.

More info showing the fuel system.

Driving back from Bala I mis fuelled a few years ago. The guy turned up, shoved a pipe down the filler neck sucked out the 10 litres, wiggled the pipe into the 4 corners, no access issues put in 10 litres and I was good to go.

Same here, Vicky put unleaded in once and they sucked it straight out through the filler cap

If you have a piece of hose, just attach it to the the outlet of the fuel filter. Bridge the fuel relay and sit back and read your fave forum!

Or, remove the fuel return pipe and extend it into the container, and start the van. Job done

These arrived yesterday..

Looks like both pipes are the same diameter anyway.

Once the tanks arrive I'll give it a go..

These just arrived......

Let the drainage begin.

Whenever it stops raining.

Another way you could do it, is disconnect the supply pipe to the fuel filter, and connect a hose to it, and run it into a can, then run the VCDS fuel line priming feature, and simply pump it out while you have a cup of tea or a beer or 2!
Assuming you have VCDS.

Have vcds, and can run the lift pumps

And have the container and some 10/15mm pipe.

But what id need is a pipe adapter to go from my pipe to the van side fuel filter line....

Some sort of cone shape adapter?.

Or is there a actual proper clip thing that clips into the fuel line to prevent the pipe from popping off?

Just remove the outlet from the filter and if your hose is a good fit, just push it on. Bit loose? pop on a jubilee clip
So we saying, output side of fuel filter....... Add drain hose down to bucket thing..

Then run lift pump.
