Sorry I thought you meant the roof soffit. The garage soffit is to tight space wise to have the camera. Also the RSJ is directly above the big bit. Hope I'm making sense!

So got this done
Really wasn't hard. Excellent advice from @Dellmassive to mark the drill bit. Last 20mm hammer off, didn't push and came through completely clean on the other side.
For wiring the ethernet plugs is used the below. The plugs have a loading bar which makes life so much easier. Also had to buy some precision side cutters. Managed to do one with my normal garage cutters but then wrecked two plugs.
