Driver's door won't open from either side.

Hi all,
Yesterday I did the floppy handle fix on my outer driver's door handle.
All good except the new limited travel (spec) meant the cable wasn't being pulled far enough to actuate the mech.
So I pulled the slack and re-attached - all good. A little tight pulling on the handle but it worked fine.

Today it won't open from the outside or the inside.
Obvs v tricky removing the door card with the door closed and of course, I'll end up breaking the tabs at the bottom which are inaccessible when it's closed.

Has anyone experienced this?
The lock goes up and down as it should.

2018 T6 abused ex-RAC

After a random pull on the handle as I went by, 'just in case', it opened, so I quickly pulled the card off while I could.
The mechanism is tired so I'll simply replace it.
