DRL's are a bit yellow..

On second thoughts im not sure they are actually required, take one out and see if you get an error first

Thanks mate I will have a look for the Philips one and try it.

Try taking a lamp out and see if it generates error first not all lamps are monitored ??

I have only just got round to trying this and as soon as I disconnect the bulb a little orange bulb pops up on the dash.

I have also noticed that current being drawn for the standard DRL's are preventing the bumper DRL's to operate correctly. When no other lights are on they run and 100% brightness and dim to 50% when head lights are activated. The fact that the van runs in daytime with factory DRL's on the are stuck at 50%

I noticed in VCDS the other day that bulb monitoring is listed individually for most if not all lamps and can be turned on/off
Most of mine were off by default, if I remove drl nothing shows on dash

I can't remember exactly because I followed the instructions and I can't find them but the power was direct from the battery and switch wire was wired to the side lights. Well I say followed the instructions the first time I did them they worked as they should until I noticed they kept going out when in slow moving traffic. I looked back at the instructions and realised I had not wired them for stop/start engine. I then re wired them as shown and they no longer go out but don't switch between brightness because it's detecting the factory DRL's. I remember the power is now feed from a aux fuse.

@Pauly i have found this which shows how I wired it but this obviously is aimed at vehicles that don't have any standard DRL's

Where did you connect the blue wire ACC feed & the orange wire ?
Is orange headlights or side lights ??

The orange wire was to the side lights and the blue wire to a switched fuse. I don't know what the fuse was for but it only add power to it when the ignition was on.

Which fusebox and fuse number did you connect it ?

It was the fuse box under the bonnet but not sure on the fuse number. I will have a look when I get back and let you know thanks.

You guys seem to know a lot about the drl. Just wondered if anyone had ever thought about keeping them on at night. Seems a shame to waist all that extra light by turning them off when it gets dark. I have a T6 kombi 16 plate and I would like to reprogrammed it so they don't go off as soon as it desires to put the side lots and dip on at night. Any thoughts?

DRL's have to turn off when headlights or fog lights are turned on. Its because they can dazzzle at night.

They'd dazzle oncoming traffic enough that they wouldn't see your indicators, and you probably wouldn't even notice the additional light output on the road

Not the yellow ones that I have! Yeah good point. Just a thought. Ok how about if they dim then?

Probably not worth the effort I know. Never mind might just jet a nice set of LEDs instead.

Thanks for the answers chaps.
