Dropped suspension

Just noticed that the passenger side rear wheel suspension is lower then the drivers side... never noticed this before and I'm sure it was all level first picture close up is of the dropped side can't get my fingers under the tyre like I can on the other side

Any ideas or what I should look out for I've got a 10 hrs trip back from central France to London tomorrow

That looks like a snapped suspension spring. Can you get your hand in with a phone tk take a picture of the spring?

I'll have a check that don't sound great and I've got to drive back from central France to London first thing could this cause any further damage

Do you know what suspension is fitted?
The fella I brought from did tell me and its on all my paperwork back home but i don't have it with me see pictures the dropped side does look different doesn't picture the red brake caliper is the ok side

They look like Stance+

They’re a fairly cheap brand with some good marketing.

Depending on whether you want to drive south, west or north, pop in to either @BognorMotors @The Van Cave or @CRS Performance and they’ll change them out for something slightly dearer but of better quality.

I changed out my Stance+ Ultra for KW’s and wish I’d skipped the Stance altogether.

Just for as far underneath as I can the dropped side does look different see marked up picture... so 500 kilometres on this tomorrow should be ok? As long as I don't hit any potholes

Difficult to tell in the pics, but I suspect that the spring has snapped, but the remaining spring is still giving some suspension.
You have essentially got half of your spring which is still working, so should be okay to cautiously go home. May be worth removing the wheel and checking there is no sharp tail of the spring that could protrude into the side wall of the tyre.
Other than that. It looks like you need a new spring.... possibly an opportunity to upgrade, but bear in mind I got through 4 springs in 28k miles on KW V 1's. So probably avoid them too!

Thanks very much for the advice I've called the RAC earlier (well the international one) and low and behold they haven't done a thing yet it's been 2.5hrs was hoping for a mechanics seconds opinion.

Now they have said if I drive it after reporting issues they will not cover me for further breakdowns to do with the same issues

How long I could be here I don't know?

That pick doesnt show us the rear springs , thats the first place i'd be looking for the bottom coil being broken

As above I suspect a spring is snapped - if you can get a look and see, that will confirm what’s left. If there is no rubbing(there is loads of room
In the rear arches) and you drive carefully you should be fine. We are not far from you on your return for any suspension related help moving forward.

The French RAC, AA etc have always been useless in my experience. They never want to repair roadside, just get to a garage!

Best of luck

What did you end up doing? Did RAC eventually arrive and deliver you to a garage?

Yeah liklely snapped spring, I had the same in a T4 going on holiday in france, as @BognorMotors says, local services not available, plus being non standard they wont help. I ended up doing 1200 miles on a snapped spring over Pyrenees , no drama, just dont go over bumps too quickly. Just make sure nothing is rubbing

Cheers for all the replies after consulting my English neighbour in France I visited an English mechanic, popped it straight on his lift tool and look underneath measured and checked everything and nothing wrong... I must be going mad, put my kind to rest the garage owner didn't charge me a thing. Back in the uk after another great road trip

Really, that's weird as it looked so much lower one side.

Check the adjuster ring on the upper spring seat , we have had 2 x KW s break in the last month . . I am sure they will be replaced but i was a little shocked that they simply snapped and then the adjuster goes all the way to the top and the vans height dropped ( as low as possible )
