DVLA - Changing V5 to increase number of seats

I've just had the same documentation drop on my door mat. Same questions and same forms by the looks of it. Did you complete the V627/1 and what did you put in about the windows?

Do you have a pop-top? Did you have to put in anything about that?
Can't really remember sorry think i just filled it in and then sent photos of the van showing the windows and seat also one with the rear doors open showing the reg of the van.

Thanks @Paul7807 Just a quick update — I completed an uprate on my van last year through SVTech after the camper conversion and getting the suspension sorted out by @CRS Performance . I sent an updated V5 off to DVLA that included the change in max allowable mass, seats, exterior colour and windows, They wrote back to me asking for more info. I was able to email photos and answers to all the questions.

When the updated V5 arrived it had al the changes apart from the uprate. This was rather annoying — I assumed I would need to start the whole process again but ... I took a chance and emailed using the same address/reference as before and got a reply apologising and saying the mistake would be rectified.

This morning an new V5 arrived with the correct information.

Van has gone from max allowable mass of 2800 to 3200 giving us plenty of overhead to carry people, dogs, beer, awnings, water, beer, food and, did I mention beer?

That’s a better result than I had! I sent my V5 in for an uprate, plus a correction to the number of seats, with the engineers report and photos but the V5 came back without them amending the max permissible mass. The revenue weight had been changed to 3150 but the mpm was still 2800. I called DVLA and the plonker on the phone insisted it was correct, called me a liar then hung up on me. Livid is an understatement! Anyhow, I sent a letter to the specific department and funnily enough it came back very quickly with the mpm corrected. I’d even been warned by the engineer (Dan at Van Weight Engineering) to double check the numbers as in his experience most come back wrong. How difficult can it be?!!
