E-box fuse sizes

I went ahead and used the large red cable under the seat to supply a Renogy 50A DCDC charger limited to 30A and it’s been working perfectly fine. Any idea what the disadvantage would be if this originated from SA8 instead of SA3?

Merely a lower amperage fuse and possibly thinner gauge cable

In my case SA8 is fused at 50a and it feeds a 10mm cable in to the pax seat area.

It’s been running my Ring RSCDC50a without issue

Another day, another frustration.
Firstly I cracked the lid of the e-box trying to get it out from underneath the headlight.
Secondly, I dropped two of the seven screws somewhere down in the depths of the engine.
Third, where do you run the cable - it looks like all the grommets are full and only able to carry the cables that populate them.

Do people make a new hole and grommet it that way?

Thinking about van modifications is all fun and joy until they have to be actually done…

I have both pushed wires through existing grommets and added one new grommet

Pray tell - which grommet did you manage to squeeze in to, and did it involve more than taking off more than just the lid?

Here here!

Just the lid. I don’t have a photo of completed mod but it was the grommet on the right hand side through which the rightmost thick black goes from this photo. Then up and behind the battery, scuttle bay and in to the cabin from there.

Two thin wires afair wrapped in tape - one for the relay control of a light bar and another one that continued to ABS module for HDA retrofit.

Thanks, I made a new hole with a suitable sized grommet, fused SA3 and then fed the 16mm cable in to the cab through one of the two plugged holes in the firewall. Just waiting for some other bits to arrive and I’ll wire that up to my new DC-DC charger.
I’ll terminate the old SA8 10mm cable underneath the drivers seat and use it as a dedicated charger feed to the vehicle battery.
