Engine temp gauge.

Hi guys I don’t appear to have an engine temperature gauge anywhere on my t5.1 has anyone aftermarket fitted one or am I missing something obvious on my van?

Some of the Startline (and possibly Trendline) T6s don’t have a gauge so I assume it’s similar for the T5. There should be a warning light for overheating though.

My 1 Series doesn’t have one either!

Obd reader/ display is a cheap and cheerful way of displaying all these extras that vw thought weren't necessary.

To be fair the temperature gauge in the VW vans is fairly pointless anyway. It can be well out (like 20 odd degrees) compared to actual live data via the OBD.
