Extra Door Seal/buffers

That's the place we were talking about, quality picture thanks.
Reading up on 'other places' people talk about the seal filling with water over time when they do it as a one piece long run so the split makes sense, if that's how VW do it its gotta be good

When I used the vw configurator recently ,the extra seal didn't come up as an option .when I last spoke to dealer and went through my options ,he also said it wasn't showing as an option now .so will have to wait and see if it comes on my van .

That will be interesting @carlg , there are in the my17 extras price list so let's see if we get them fitted as ordered, if not I will not be impressed !

You cant retro fit the factory ones as they locate in holes in the door, the holes wont be there if they are not ordered at factory

Just got round to doing this, and got to say I am genuinely impressed, just that bit nicer experience closing the doors now rather than a bit of a rattle! The mr Resk stuff seems to stick well and has definitely made a difference. Will post a pic or 2 when I get a sec.

Gents........I bought some D type "eared" door seal from carbuilder solutions for my T5. I saw allsorts of posts saying they wouldn't stick, but I had no problems. I cleaned the paint work with meths, warmed the metal up as it was December when I did it........hey presto, stuck like sh*t to a blanket! I had no problems in the 9 months they were on! I'm just wondering what's so special about these others you're all talking about? Also, I photographed a caravelle's doors when I was in the dealers and the seal didn't kick back up to follow the profile of the wheel arch.......it just ran horizontally along the bottom of the door and terminated there.

Nothing special about it just tried and tested by plenty of other transporter owners and got the best reports on sticking well, i am sure there are others out there that work

We have taken delivery of some additional door seal rubber today which will be ready for sale in the shop as soon as we have opened/checked the product and taken some pictures
This is the product installed on countless T5s as discussed earlier in the thread purchased from Mr Resk and seems to come out on top for sticking compared to others on the market
Need to calculate a price including shipping but will be comparable

Well, I fitted my own sourced door seal today.....same ones I used in the T5.......brilliant! Go around curves beautifully with no need to put cuts in them as has been suggested. My neighbour who has a Golf R was amused........until he heard the difference!

I think this must be one of the simplest, cheapest and most satisfying mods you can do!. Can anyone think of a better one?

agreed......the satisfaction is out of all the proportion to the effort involved!

I too would be interested in this as I did spec it when I ordered my van but never got it! I saw a velle at busfest today which had them fitted and it sounds so much better.
