Factory swivel - swap

Don't suppose you know if the T5/T5.1 seats also have the same components as the T6?

As I only have 1 x T6 doner chair, so it would be a lot cheaper to buy a battered old T5 one as a doner for the second factory swivel...

(I'd prefer to go factory as I'd like to keep the space underneath for a leisure battery and heater)

I think the mounting points for the base are the same, cant be sure on the rest but can't see why they change. People always quote t5 to 6.1. I do know the handle for the normal sliding is different.
If you have any picture of a stripped down ones you can compare to my pics above

Okay sooo... I was was trying something different to you guys and it did not work! Haha

I was trying to use the swivel mechanism from one of the rear Caravelle seats.

Turns out they are very different to the front 2 seats and I'm pretty confident not swappable. They seem to have a different type of heavy duty swivel which isn't on runners and can't move back and forth.

Hi @PaulR83 can I ask the issue with the plastics ? I’m potentially going to swap my factory swivels from my standard 6.1 seats to caravelle seats . I know the swivels will be ok but I don’t fancy the extra cost of changing plastics or at least I need to budget for it if you know the cost of them ?

The plastics on the swivel are shallower as they don't need to cover the height mechanism as they are a fixed.
If you search for pics you can also see the seat belt doesn't sit in as much on the swivel one.
If you fitted them you wouldn't be able to swivel the seat.

Ah ok I see thanks for explaining , I should hopefully be able to swap the plastics over as well then . Would that work you think ?

As long as the seats are factory front swivels replacing a height adjustable front seat all will swap over. That's what I did. Upload some pics if unsure

Cool , that’s it then . Not got the caravelle seats yet but keeping my factory swivels and my current plastics is a good solution .once I get the Velle seats I’ll be good to swap it all over

Yeah looking to fit velle rails & bench in the back and velle seats in front but I don’t want to loose the factory swivels.
