I'm in the process of trying to organise my garage and one thing that's getting in the way is the many bicycles and scooters we have accumulated. Our little girl now has 3 bikes (I can't get rid of her old tiny ones) and both me and the missus have one.

I currently hang them from the roof cross braces, but being at perfect head height they get in the way with many bump to be had!

Has anyone found a better more convenient/compact solution for storing bikes/scooters etc?

I used to teach MTB skills to emergency services, even going to the states on one occasion. This left me with perhaps more bikes than was strictly necessary.

I struggle a bit now so when I moved I whittled the fleet from 14 to 4 bikes - one is a folder so gets stashed wherever, the remaining 3 are hung at the far end of the garage so they're out the way.

Do you have a photo of the space in question?

I use a couple of Steadyracks for my EMTBs

Yeah they're the fancier and more expensive version of what I have

Mine are the feedback sports Velo Hinge

I bought a shed for ours…..keep bloomin’ accumulating them as the boys grow up and need bigger bikes. SWMBO won’t let me chuck them in the tip and I refuse to have another shed in the garden (currently running at 9 sheds!)

As we cyclists all know, the n+1 rule is the answer to the question of 'how many bikes is the right number' where 'n' = the number of bikes you currently have.

Or to outsiders, when they ask 'how come you have X bikes' - the correct answer is 'Because I haven't decided what my next bike will be'

Mine are all on Steadyracks (except the few that I keep at work  ). Steadyrack will hold up to 25kg. If fitted at the correct height you don’t need to lift the bike up, you can just push it on. They pivot too.

Do I spy a pinion gearbox with a Gates belt drive :inlove:
Yep! It's titanium too, for the full niche trifecta! Although I'm currently trying to sell it, I've done 500km on it since 2021...

Really fancy a lightweight emtb (as I'm getting older/fatter/unfitter) and despite the n+1 rule I can't justify having 3 mountain bikes, and need to fund the emtb somehow!

Not a stealth add fyi - but I've got it up for £3950 - to build it now it'd be about £5500. The frame, gearbox and gates kit is £3k new (and a 12 week lead time at the moment), it's got carbon wheels, hope brakes, fox factory forks, carbon bar... It's probably overpriced by £500 but I'm in no rush to sell. There's another Pinion MTB for sale at £3200 with a Nicolai alloy frame, alloy rims, a lower spec lyric...

Edit: oh AND mine comes with a complete 2nd set of 27.5x3.0 wheels with gates sprocket and hope discs for gravel riding, with a pinion specific rear hub...

I have the E bike versions of the Steadyrack and they are rated for 35kg.

What size frame

What size frame
Large - I'm 6ft 3in with a 200mm dropper with a good amount showing on the 470mm seat tube. I think sizing wise 5ft 11in or taller is ok for my size bike, it's long but not massively long.

Here's a link to the pinkbike advert if you want to look at some bike porn

And my full build thread over on singletrackworld forum...
