Hi @Andy_l so... I'll hopefully do a full post on this when I get time but I thought I'd chuck you a few pics (pretty happy with the result). So I essentially used the method suggested by @zombie_T6 above. Used steel rods with roofing washer (pinched this idea from another thread) to run through both the fiamma bracket adapter and roof rails. It was a bit fiddly and you still need to use silka adhesive on the van but I was happy with that compromise.
The rear bracket sits further back on the adapter so I had to drill a small space for the steel rod to come up.
Also had to drill into the rail so that it would sit over the new bolts on the fiamma bracket.
End result you'll notice the plastic feet from the rails are missing from both front/back. I may cut those down and just tuck them under with a bit of sealant to finish it off - but I don't think it looks too bad as is to be honest. Let me know if you've got any questions.
