Fiamma barn door bike rack query

I fitted a Fiamma 2 bike rack to my barn door van over the weekend and wanted to check with others if the fitment is ok.

No issues with lopsidedness like I've seen, however the bottom bracket bolts are currently too long meaning the caps don't fit securely. Not the end of the world but it's making me question if I've installed everything correctly.

Should the bottom tube of the rack be sat completely inside of the bottom bracket or have I overtightened it/otherwise installed incorrectly?

It’s the same on mine - the caps sit on the protruding thread of the bolt rather than covering the nut.

Great, thank you! I’ll probably glue a second nut inside the gap so I can thread it on.
