Hi everyone
Im Planning a long summer trip hopefully either to Scotland or Cornwall. Currently I’ve got a Kombi with 40winks bed, and a Vango side awning on the side.
if I don’t go abroad I’ll have some spare cash to spend, so what are the essentials would you say for a long summer trip?
leisure battery and electrics? A night heater? Any other advice would be great.
thanks ...

Most important questions - will you be on campsites with electric hook-up and plenty of facilities, or basic/wild camping ?

Pete

If you are likely to be on hookup, then I would get:

A hookup connection with 240v sockets in the van
A leisure battery plus mains charger just in case.
A small mains heater (fan or oil) - much cheaper than gas/diesel heater.
12v fridge running off leisure battery.
Portable gas burner for cooking on in the awning.

Cheers Pete, I’ve already got a grill just waiting for my kitchen pod to arrive.
I will certainly look into the other things you’ve mentioned. Cheers

When we know we'll have a 240v supply we take a portable induction hob. You'll need specific cookware but it's so much quicker and safer than gas.
Maybe it's cheating like gas barbecues but it's a lot less to carry too.

I spotted you said you might be going to Scotland. If you get chance, the Famous Blacksmiths Shop is definitely worth a stop-off! They're just off the M6 on the Scottish border and have free unlimited daytime parking so it's mega handy to stretch your legs before getting back on the road.
