It is running at the moment. What is wrong with the current engine?
I think it's an observation that we're all a bit mystified why you would want to do this, especially as you say your current engine is fine and you (possibly) haven't bought the Caddy engine yet.Dxx, What does that mean?
I have an accident damaged caddy with good engine DFSF code full service history just had cam belt/pump & service I would like to know if i should keep it just for future use as the transporter engine CXHC was a day hire van high mileage or sell it and other parts where? and for what prices how do i find prices. Thanks.I think it's an observation that we're all a bit mystified why you would want to do this, especially as you say your current engine is fine and you (possibly) haven't bought the Caddy engine yet.
I’m no mechanic but reading above it is obvious to me the two things (Transporter engine/chassis/wiring bs Caddy) are not the same and therefore one does not fit the other. Sure, you can probably fit a Chevy V8 in it but it will be a lot of specialist (expensive) work and a lot of time. I once knew someone that had a Rover engine in an old Beetle but he was a mechanic (guessing you are not?) and they were very simple vehicles back then.I have an accident damaged caddy with good engine DFSF code full service history just had cam belt/pump & service I would like to know if i should keep it just for future use as the transporter engine CXHC was a day hire van high mileage or sell it and other parts where? and for what prices how do i find prices. Would it be worth keeping engine block and bottom half, the caddy is 2017 dfsf code transporter 2021 cxhc or are mountings a big problem, and sell head, is there any other parts to keep if i did this e.g. fuel pump starter alternator, new belt kit and water pump just fitted. Thanks for your advice. In short. I'd sack the idea off all together

2016 Transporter Shuttle 150PS CXFA engine.
Looking like I may need to replace the DPF.
At 280,000 miles on the original I cant really complain…
