Fitting Ford Custom seats in rear of a T6

Hi guys. Has anyone fitted transit custom seats in there t6? If so do they fit ok and is there any particular issues to fitting them?
would a typical be converter for these with them not being vw?
many help greatly appreciated. Cheers

Guys I’m looking at this exact option. But feeling pretty daunted I terms of getting them fitted. Not really something I’m willing to tackle myself so looking for fitters that would fit the seats I supply fairly locally to me (Basingstoke) if anyone knows of any decent fitters I’d be very grateful. Willing to travel a bit if needed. Cheers guys

I bottled it from going this way I, couldn't get anyone local to me to fit. And it's not something I fancied doing myself given if I mess it up then it's potentially a safety issue... I ended up going 1+1+1 and having them fitted tomorrow genuine T6 seats, £700 all in.

Do you mind me asking where you got that all in for that price pal? For £700 I would go for that

I got the seats off flea bay £600 ... A breaker in Wakefield, and had a place called kustom kampers fit them for £100 local to me ( Lincolnshire). Includes all belts, fitting etc.

It was the price that originally put me off using T6/5 seats as was seeing ridiculous quotes! That and the fact transit seats looked comfier..

These look great overall though and once re covered will match the rest of the seats.

Wow. £100 to fit them is a steal. Yeah the price of the vw are ridiculous hence me looking at the transits. Plus the fact they incorporate belts etc. Well good luck with the van pal

So, I went for the transit seats in the end and have just had them fitted. I’m really impressed with them although I swear each individual seat weighs the same as the van itself!
Anyway, I had them fitted fairly local at Salisbury camper conversions. Great guys and would recommend if peeps are looking.
I’ll add some pics tommorow

@Fintank Do you have pictures of the seats fitted?
Planning to do exactly the same in my van.

I'm Surrey so would be interested to know how much you paid for the fitting in Salisbury.

I’ll take some for you tomorow mate. Just been busy with other bits. It was £300 for fitting at Salisbury.

Do all the transit custom seats lay flat? I'm thinking to make them into a bed for camping?

Firstly, sorry Perry. I completely forgot to take some pics. Things have been very hectic. I will however take some today!
Jt1, they lay flat forwards if that makes sense? They don’t recline backwards though. Again, I’ll take some pics which should make it clearer

Hi all

I have some Transit custom rear seats I am hoping to fit this week.
If someone has already fitted these, on the runners the middle pair are pretty obvious, but the near side and offside....Which is which ?
The only obvious differences I can see is the 2 holes on the side lip and the position of the " nipple ". Does the nipple go at the rear or the front ?
Having said about the middle ones being obvious...again there are 2 holes on the lip of each runner, should these face in together away from each other, to the near side, off side ?
Any advice much appreciated :)

Andy,
I presume you figured it out ages ago, but in case someone else is about to do it, I spent a while looking at them (mine have just been delivered) trying to figure it out myself. I'm pretty sure the stickers with dots are the key - 6 dots are the 6 rail positions, with the 2 coloured in dots being positions the rail could go in. On mine (row 3 seats) there were 3 identical rails, that could go in position 2, 3, 4. The holes on the side lip match a locating pin on the seat - on mine the n/s and o/s have the pins (and holes) on opposite sides.
Hope this helps someone else,
James

Hi - If anyone knows a reputable fitter that would be willing to put the removable transporter custom seats in the back of my T6 and is based near Bournemouth, that would be much appreciated. Thanks, Pat

Transit or Transporter? Shadow Customs in Poole are the local guys for customisation, VAS Works at Holton Heath for anything mechanical.

There’s also Bespoke Buses in Wimborne.
