Flashing coil light - my experience

Hi. Just a quick note of my experience so far. It may be beneficial for others.

I bought the van - 2018 T32 T6 combi 150 last July. 105,000 miles.

I had a service and cambelt / water pump in August.

In September instated getting the flashing coil light regularly when warming up.

I changed the brown oil pressure switch as it was relatively cheap and accessible. The gauze in the old switch appeared to be slightly clogged. The issue went away until February when it returned 115000 miles . This weekend I chose to change the oil for 507 spec and fit a new switch. The switch I fitted last year was similarly clogged.

Not sure what conclusions to draw?

Thanks

Any fault codes?

I had a similar issue, that luckily hasn't come back since I cleared the fault with VCDS. But when I was researching this, people seem to have more positive results by replacing the oil pressure regulator for the oil pump rather than the pressure switches. Not as straightforward but DIY do-able.

Great info for these faults in the thread above.

My fault code was oil pressure switch, both were replaced and the fault remained.
Replacing the oil pressure changeover valve sorted the problem.
It's possible to use VCDS to run a test on this valve to test it's functionality.
