Flexibility on a Caravelle T6.1

We got a Caravelle T6.1 (2021) for family trips. We used to have a Caddy Maxi (2021) but felt the need to go a bit bigger.
More passenger space and more storage space which we obviously got! One miscalculation on taxes for putting it in traffic (almost 4.000 €) but can't change that anymore.

One thing that I miss since the Caddy though is the flexiblity of getting one chair out in the back. The Caravelle has a bench for three in the rear.
Is it possible to get rid of the bench and place two single chairs of which at least one could be easily removed?

If yes, would anyone have some tips on where to buy seats, how to do this?

Thanks!

Hi jandante: , welcome to the T6 Forum.

The bench seat in the Caravelle can be replaced by 2 captains chairs. Similar to the chairs directly behind the driver and front passenger seats. :)

Do you just have the bench seat, or 2x single captains chairs in the middle row too?

The bench can be removed, yes - in fact all the rear seats can be removed. You can have 4x single captains chairs in the rear.

Just be aware that the bench seat weighs about 100kg is a struggle with 2 people to remove.

As I understand, the sliding triple seat needs one set of rails (2 rails) and the triple with two captains chairs needs two sets of rails (4).

Have you got a picture of your set up?

Ahh, just noticed you're in Europe - the naming scheme means an EU Caravelle is the Shuttle in the UK. Got a pic of the rear seats?

Yeah, that's called a Shuttle in the UK. The European multivan is the UK Caravelle.

Thank you for the remark and feedback. I've added the pictures in the post and I'm curious to see what the options are for my van!

What you are suggesting has been done by @BognorMotors

You can fit two middle single (uk) shuttle seats in row 3 which have an integral belt. This would need extra floor brackets and possibly the wheel arches modifying.

If you just need 1 seat it will clip into your existing floor brackets (which is what I have) then just swap between the bench / single.

We only need 6 seats so I sold the bench and just have the single seat for row 3

Yes we've done this modification quite a lot, on a SWB van (not shuttle) you have to modify the seat plastics to it will fit up against the wheel arch.

Impressive service you provide!
Good to hear that it is possible but a professional take on it seems recommended and necessary.
Do you happen to know your equal (if that exists) in Belgium (Flanders)?
