Fly tipping promotion

I had problems with my local tip when doing renovations so I went to the next closest. Much better there. But I sense the local place has relaxed their rules a bit as before they were all over you as soon as you drove in. Still not tried it in the van though, with the camper conversion there’s actually more room in the wife’s zafira (nothing to do with the fact that I couldn’t give a sh*t about that thing and that it looks like it’s been lived in by a tramp anyway).

I believe Herts CC now have a rule to stop foreigners (beds, bucks, Essex etc) coming over the border and using our tips so may have to take id.

All these things are a pain but I can’t work out why people still seem to go further out their way to fly tip small things. We were walking on a country lane at the weekend and saw someone had dumped a rug in a hedge. Why??

When I had my 5.1 and we bought the current house there was a lot to get rid off.

They didn’t even blink when I turned up like this twice a week also with a fully loaded LWB shuttle of stuff.

If you want a tip to get round ID issues then if you’ve got a nice friend in their catchment area send off for a change of address on your licence using their address.

When the new one arrives, give it a week and send off for a change back to your current address. Then send in your old old licence when the other one arrives.

Now you’ll have two licences with different addresses and the latest one will be your current address. :). Just keep the old one for dump trips.

That’s all I used to do when I lived in London on a barge and we didn’t have council tax but lived in the borough and needed to prove my address.

Against the driving licence rules as you promise to return the old one etc however nothing happens.

That sounds a little extreme! Anyway, I don’t need to get round the id issues as it seems we have a problem with others coming to us to dump stuff (hence why they said they introduced the rule) and I can access all the local tips so no point me looking elsewhere.

If in doubt there’s always the hedges by a local beauty spot

My shuttle is exempt from the Kent permit scheme as it is a car however they sometimes check that I keep at least 1 seat in the back and they do sometimes check to have to a look. I know this as once I had no seats in so had a big load and they guy got a bit funny about it however I was almost unloaded by then. Next week he was over like a flash and so I pulled open sliding door to show him the seat I had left in, folded down.

As I am all black with fully tinted full glass windows all round it doesn't instantly look like a Shuttle to the untrained eye so they usually wander over however I am there quite frequently, I have a "HELL" number plate and an LED bonnet strip lights so it does stand out a bit, and they generally all know me plus I take them biscuits and donuts occasionally and usually have a chat with them as I am going out my dumping.
I too have a lwb Shuttle with tints. To save hassle, I do tend to book it in and the guys at the Recycling Centre generally ignore checking the booking. I have tried pointing out it is registered as a car and no different to a Renault Espace, or S-Max.

Still no news from HCC regarding my permit which I paid for last week!

Meanwhile.... I still have a knackered old bed and desk in the back of my Kombi which is my daily drive! (I am havng to run around doing work stuff in my LWB camper, which is impossible to fit the bed and desk in!)

It is crazy that idiotic rules, a woeful lack of common sense, appalling administration from HCC, coupled with a jobsworth attitude from the employees (that work at the dump) can be so disruptive.

If i wasn't such a fine upstanding member of the public I'd drop my refuse outside their gates when they close at 6pm!

(Please dont get me wrong! Cretins that dump anything at all need stringing up in my opinion, but I genuinely feel that the local councils are a major contributor to the problem of fly tipping.)

What a cluster of shambolic bureaucratic idiots Hampshire County Council are!

After 8 days of not receiving my permit, with a knackered bed sat in the back of my vehicle, I spent 40 minutes of my life attempting to get through to the correct department (by phone) to ask why I have not received the required permit, only to be told that they cannot see that I have paid the fee!

I have an emailed proof of purchase which I've now been forced to email to them so that they can attempt to locate the permit. Once they find the payment they will endeavour to send me the permit which can take up to 10 days to come through!

If unnecessary, idiotic, inconsistent rules are to be applied, you'd think they'd have the administrative savvy to process the permit to comply with their own ill-thought-out rules in a less shambolic fashion.

We are doomed in this country as a result of numbskulls working in positions where they just seem to like implementation of poorly considered rules.

The country's administration is becoming worse and worse as a result of inconsistent rules dreamt up by dimwitted civil servants that either didn't work hard enough at school to get a proper job or lack the skills to gain meaningful employment elsewhere....... F**ked it tell you......We are all f**ked!

I've not much more to add other that the next time I see a beauty spot ruined by fly tipped rubbish, may anger is directed at the council as much as the cretinous ar*whole that dumped it!

Rant, rant.... sorry..... need to vent!

Went to Havant tip today 4 weeks after my first visit with another 8 bags of tile and plasterboard bits. Got half in, then got accosted by one of them stating i need to separate the tile and gypsum. Are they having a laugh? I got about 16 bags stored up in the garage. How do they expect me to manage that at home??? Lol

I guess ill just have to fly tip it!!! Kidding! ;)

My tip tell me to just sling it in the household compactor if waste is not cleanly sorted or separated - I take it Havant doesn’t?

Never had any issues at Bolton. Very organised. I took some big stuff from in the T5 a while ago, and they directed me round to the industrial area to go straight to the massive compactor. They checked my council tax bill at the weighbridge on that occasion.

You guys have it tough. I went to Bootle tip in North Liverpool today. Didn't fancy squeezing under a 2m barrier so waited behind a Land Rover with a roof box. Nice kind operative came over, opened the barrier and let us through, no questions asked. Win win. Done it a couple of times now. There appears far to many jobsworths out there!!!!!

In Greater Manchester you can request a permit for private disposals with a van or twin axle trailer. I requested it for the camper, they asked for pictures, I sent them, Sarah replied

“I can confirm your vehicle would not require a permit as long as all furniture stays in the vehicle when visiting the facilities.”

Happy days!
