My wife who is just over 5ft will not drive ours because of the issue you mention. If no one beats me to it I will gladly measure the peddle height for you on Weds when I am next at the storage site ( currently mothballed camper awaiting spring).
Following this with interest as my wife also refuses to drive due to pedals and factory swivels too high for her to start with. I whipped up a quick custom foot support to make her passenger travels more comfortable, does not address driving though.
Yes I’m also interested in this. I’m 5 foot 7inch with a background in human movement. At my height my shin bones in forced is forced to be move vertical then other cars I have driven. Because of the shin bone angle this requires more dorsoflexion(bringing toes closer to shin bone). The minimum amount of mobility in the ankle that most humans should have is 35 degrees. You can measure this angle by using ‘measure’app on Iphone. Just put it on your shin bone. I have probably about 33 degrees. The apply the brake it requires me to lift heel and place my ankle at full lock dorisflexion. I’m wondering if anyone has tried improving driving ergonomics for shorter people. I’m think of cut and welding brake pedal and lowering the seat positions. Would love some help with this
I would have thought that a raised floor panel would be a better option. Just imagine the conversation with your insurance company. "Please list your modifications." "Well, I've cut the brake pedal off, altered it a bit, and stuck it back on."
Now I know why the DPD driver hammers past my house every day, his poor little tootsies are hurting too much to apply the brake.
First World problem I think!
I got major cramp in my thigh the other day from having to lift my whole leg to hit the brakes. I drive many vans and trucks and the transporter is the only one I have an issue with. I just cant get a comfortable position on the brake pedal. It’s like it needs lowering by about an inch.
Ill have to just put up with it, but it is a big downer on what is a otherwise pleasurable experience driving.
