I’ve got Powerflex front/rear poly bushes, fitted by Bognor
I looked into bush replacement with metalastic bushes and VW wont do it as installing the new ones are time consuming and problematic (new bushes deforming)Thanks for the tip but I live too far from Bognor Motors and I am not confident in carrying out the changes myself, my usual mechanic friend is currently on holiday too.
I am just really surprised that the whole wishbone needs to be replaced more than anything!
I’ve never had a set of rear tyres last more than 5,000 miles, but since getting Bognor to fit Powerflex adjustable bushes front/rear I’ve got about 8,000 miles on my rears and still 6mm evenly across both tyres.A complete bush replacement is a possible - Time consuming, but the results are well worth it, as it will feel and handle better, and if lowered we can get the geometry spot on.
My Goodyear Cargo Vectors look to be good for 60K miles on the rear? Sounds like you have some serious issues.I’ve never had a set of rear tyres last more than 5,000 miles, but since getting Bognor to fit Powerflex adjustable bushes front/rear I’ve got about 8,000 miles on my rears and still 6mm evenly across both tyres.
My van is pretty low, big wide 20’s etc, seems a pretty common problem on lowered vans especially when there is no factory adjustment of rear camber. My Goodyear Cargo Vectors look to be good for 60K miles on the rear? Sounds like you have some serious issues.
Those bushes will pay for themselves pretty quickly then!I’ve never had a set of rear tyres last more than 5,000 miles, but since getting Bognor to fit Powerflex adjustable bushes front/rear I’ve got about 8,000 miles on my rears and still 6mm evenly across both tyres.
Should be a good thing but they can be squeaky and won’t last as long.Is that a good thing or bad thing being more flexible
