Ghost PDC indication, parking sensor faulty?

Hi,

I have one parking sensor (front middle right) that consistently picks something up at the same range. The indication appears and disappears. There is nothing there.

Any idea where to start or anyone had this before?

Does the bumper need to come off for access?

Thanks for advice.

Sounds kike the sensors faulty mate and needs swapping. Is there any dirt on the sensor?

No sensor is clean. My first thought was the sensor but always best to see if someone else has had the same.

It would be worth scanning the vehicle to see if it's reporting a fault. If you haven't got a scanner someone up you way maybe Inverness has a scanner

Probably got water in it (jet washing?) just replace it.

Any fix for park assist sounding when nothing behind? Tried wd40 and drying the sensor but it still does after rain

Mine played up like this once - by the time I’d unplugged it, restarted the van, posted a thread here, blown out the connector and plugged it back in, it started working again!

But this post makes a good point if you do end up replacing one (which, you may find, is a part shared across the VAG range)

I've just replaced the front parking sensor on my 2017 T6 …. Make sure you keep the little rubber seal as this does not come with the replacement sensors but from what I understand is only a few quid to replace as you would expect.

And for scanning, you may get some assistance posting in this thread
