Glue, Screw Or Both?

More fixings the better I would say, each fixing isn’t getting that much grip as only into 9mm ply batten. But combined they will work nicely.

Not sure on you layout but once bed/units etc are also pinning it down it will be solid. Remember you will also only be able to stand on a small area in front of the sliding door.

Yeah true, will look to put in quite a few. Yeah that makes sense, didn't think about all that extra.

I'm looking to put in a 130cm rib bed with some units down the side. And also I put more support by the sliding door so should be all good.

Absolutely fine but obviously the depth of the countersink needs to be spot on as either too high or too low and you're in trouble!
I wouldn't try to force the screw flush without a countersink as being a small diameter in thin wood it could just pull through and ruin the hole.
Thank you exactly the advice I was looking for! Just wish I had found it before doing all the wrong things! Now to take out all the rubbish screws that’s have only half worked or just add more

View attachment 64653 After adding the foil insulation, (into the gaps) I'm going to be securing the three piece 12mm flooring.

I was just going to screw it into the 9mm ply I've glued in, however I've ready that many people glue and screw.

Gluing seams so final, if you want to make any changes it's not coming back up!

I'm going to put plenty of screws in - is there the chance of squeaking from the ply rubbing on ply? (Without glue).

Cheers
Ollie.

@Alisdair Russell does this help to show you positions

These may help, my battens are slightly different as have a Cambee bed frame which uses the existing lashing points. The bed can be removed from the rails without going under the van. View attachment 64666

For anyone who is doing the same as this, using the Harrison insulation over the top of the batons I have just finished doing this and 25mm screws are what you need. Pre drill your hole with a 2 - 2.5mm drill bit and then countersink before screwing in 25mm screw. Worked a treat floor, is solid as a rock. Tried 20mm screws and even with countersink it still didn't grasp. 25mm will grasp every time.
