Haunted auto fold mirrors??

I'm in the habit of locking the van and holding the button so that the mirrors autofold. Several times recently I've noticed that the mirrors aren't folded when I've come to unlock the van, but have put it down to my having failed to hold the button long enough. However, now I've got CCTV I'm able to check back through the recordings and sure enough, the mirrors are unfolding on their own, hours after the van is first locked. Have I got an electrical fault? Is this something that could be picked up through VCDS or Carista? I've been thinking of getting a Ghost fitted, but it looks like I've already got one!!

on the cctv do you see any lights flashing? - to indicate a button has been pressed?

if the keyfob was flakey, it could send a signal to open the van (mirrors down) but the doors will unlock/auto relock if no door was opened during a short period off time.

mirror fold is controlled via the BCM/LIN bus, so try a reset.

I dont think opening the van with the key fob puts the mirrors down. The engine starting does that.

Thanks for the suggestion @Dellmassive - I'll try a reset. No lights flash when it happens and there's nothing audible to suggest that the van actually unlocks. Weird!
