Hi all,

Managed to clip my wall in a very spectacular way with the works van this evening, I've scuffed the bumper (black plastic) and cracked the main lens badly, the bumper I'm not so worried about however the lens I am, I want to replace it, does anyone know if it's a simple job or not?

Thanks

Paul

Stick a new unit in.....if its H4, then they are cheap and often free on this forum. I have a few knocking about.....
.....front bumper off job though, search the forum. Not difficult, just need to remove the right screws.

Show us a picture of the full unit, and we can tell you what type it is.
As mentioned above, if it’s an H4 unit, then you might pick one up free.

If it’s an unpainted bumper and the scuff is a light graze, a gentle heat with a hot air gun might improve it. Before heating, a gentle rub beforehand with some fine grit paper when the bumper is cold to take off the high spots. Use just enough heat (seconds) until the plastic is nearly at the point of starting to shine.stop at this point. The best you may achieve is to soften the scratches. Not too much heat otherwise it will lose too much of the grain pattern (become too smooth), or worse distort the plastic.
Possibly nothing to lose if you are planning to replace the bumper.
This works best on small plastic parts where a loss of texture is not so noticable.
