Hello all,
Just drove short journey home and used aircon to demist the front screen, Pollen warning light came on. Is this imperative to change right away? Am planning a long drive on Saturday and can't get to my garage until I come back next week. Van is still under warranty and is this something they should fix, or is it a non warranty fault?
Thanks

Pollen filters are service items not covered by warranty . Very easy to change yourself. VW part 7E0819631. Instructions on YT

Thanks Robert- might be easy, I will have a look. I'm no mechanic tho! Female owner but good with fixing and making things! Not got time to do it before I go away so is it going to cause any issues? Is it related to having the air con on?

I didn’t know there was a pollen filter light ? What year is the van ?
Did it come up on the dash or the infotainment display ?

When the filter becomes dirty it will restrict the air flow to the heat / ventilation and a/c system ( HVAC) The only issue will be not enough air getting into the HVAC which you will see can cause the windscreen to mist up more. It’s a 15minute job to remove and replace the filter- make sure it goes in the correct way as indicated by arrows on the filter

A bunged up pollen filter shouldn’t stop you from heading off in the van. It’s a service item but so many garages omit changing them!

It’s also an easy job for any DIYer - some “How To” clips on YouTube will show how straightforward it is!

Just checking - are you certain the warning light is for the pollen filter and not the air filter?

Ok brilliant, thank you! Have parked under trees a lot and live by the sea too, so all might be contributing factors.

Cheers Jog, that's good to know and I will look at You Tube. What did we do before You Tube? Stare at print outs in my case with my old T25 Westfalia!!

So it seems I am going completely mad- and I am quite embarrassed to say it wasn't the pollen filter flashing on the dash, it was the Particle filter light. Different thing completely. But, yesterday morning it had gone, and no sign of it today!

In that case a long drive should do your van good…. hopefully give it a good clear out!

Fill up with some premium diesel and don’t spare the horse’s!

OK yes, and thanks will do! Been shuttling around locally all week but drive for forty mins each way on motorway tomorrow too, and Devon Saturday.
