Help needed - crazy electrical issues T6.1

My van has just started playing up. Driving along perfectly well and no previous issues. Then out of the blue the dash lit up with every warning possible, flickering, central locking on and off etc, rev counter up and down, headlights flashing on and off. It the engine and gearbox functioning as normal. Please can someone give me a clue. I disconnected the battery and it cured the issue but only for five minute or so. Could it be water ingress in the BECM
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Only time that I have had that is with a flat battery - did you check the battery voltage whilst you were at it?

No , I’ll do that now. The battery has been fine in the latest cold snap

12.5 v engine off. 13.8 v engine running headlights on. I did suspect the battery but it shows no signs of failure. Just reconnected the battery after an hour off and all now ok !! For now!!

These damn vans! I had limp mode out of the blue, no errors and it never did it again. They are worse than a wife - you care for them, treat them well and they still turn round and bite you.

I agree My van has been looked after way beyond scheduled servicing and still I get a spurious electrical fault. Im now nervous of getting stranded.

That's my guess too, loose earth. I had two Renault kangoos which done the same thing. Found it to be a loose earth under my glovebox.

Thank you I’ll check that out. The fault is a flickering of all the dash lights and radio on and off lights on and off as if you are switching the ignition on and off.

That was literally what I had, only difference with mine is it done it at 70mph. All ignition went off. Radio, speedo etc. I pulled onto hard shoulder. Turned key, all fine. It went into Renault, £330 to tighten a nut
