Help - What does a VW T6.1 Kombi SWB weigh in Hundredweight / CWT ?

Hire a nice one for a weekend and see what your neighbours think of it?

Hi @bttb - we're currently in the process of buying a house (that was original sold by Redrow homes) and it has *exactly* the same covenant on it as you described - i.e. "No commercial vehicle the overall carrying capacity of which exceeds twelve hundredweight shall be parked overnight or permitted or suffered to be parked overnight on the plot or on the road adjacent to said property or any other roads on the estate."

Did you ever get any further clarification / have any issues at all with this?

Cheers!

Personally I’d park my van in my drive (the one I’ve paid for & pay council tax on) & let ‘em whistle. Does it say anywhere what the penalties are for non-compliance? Are the roads on the estate adopted by the local council?

Says the same on our deeds, majority of houses have a van or truck. One house has 6 vehicles, of which one is a sign written company van and one is a rattle canned scrap metal / recovery truck.

My T6 panel van is the smartest vehicle, including the cars

Do what you want when you want, don’t waste time worrying about how you might be judged.

Maybe highlight the phrase in front of “ exceeds twelve hundredweight”??

Is the vehicle a van “ commercial”? Or a kombi “ personal family”

I should say that will outstrip any arguments ref neighbours etc?
It’s more the definition rather than the weight that I would be looking into

12 hundred weight?? Tell em you only work in SI units, so you’ve no idea what they’re talking about. However, you’re willing to pay your ground rent in shillings.
