My van 66 plate LWB T6 broke down on Saturday evening. Loss of power and wouldn’t start again. No prior issues with it. We got it recovered by the AA to our local garage. Fault code was Global OBD II - 000 / Global OBD II Status P0087 - Rail 1: Pressure. Error Message : Pressure too low.

Garage have had it for a week and are saying it’s the HPFP but aren’t able to source one at the moment. Apparently all their usual sources, genuine and non, are on back order.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can look for one?

Oh jeez.

That normally needs a full system flush and reon injectors...

As the tiny metal filings from the pump destroy the injectors.

Never a good thing to happen.

Any idea what happened?

What the spec, age, milage of the van?

Your location?

Not sure on supply chain for those parts..... Who's you garage... A local indy?

Not sure which engine you have (single or tandem HPFP) but my first Google search shows availability from Autodoc. Bosch and other brands.
As @Dellmassive pointed out earlier replacing a pump shouldn’t be done without the rest of the diagnosis, flushing and corrective work.
There is a VW procedure for this, see on the downloads section of the Forum.
If the mechanic doesn’t correctly diagnose and repair in the correct order you could end up with a bigger bill than neccesary.

I have a 2.0 102ps. Garage I took the van to is an independent VW and Audi specialist.

No prior warning before it happened, just suddenly cut out and wouldn’t start. Van is 2017 with 65,000 miles.

The garage have taken the HPFP out today and it is a Delphi 04B130755G. I have got hold of a Bosch HPFP but the garage say the bracketing is different. Would the Bosch be a suitable replacement?
