HM Coastguard

Ambo are being run ragged... I have been at jobs with seriously injuried people and waited for 45 mins or more.. luckily the cutbacks to frontline emergency services are not affecting the frontline at all!!.....

Ask Llyr about the time he got stopped on the A38 towing a boat......

Well Fraser (as in Mary F) was my old crew mate and Pete T was my skipper.. so almost without a doubt...

Good on you @Polzeylad I'm glad to say we never had need of you when I went scuba diving but no doubt the knew we were there. @Thogg you must be of a dyeing breed there seems to be fewer & fewer cops around now, perhaps the Government hope people will volunteer, O wait they do they are called Specials though I have seen even less of them around more of the Plastic ones called Community Support who seem to get run ragged. Mind you the guys round here had their work cut out yesterday, some Belgian driver tried to take a 32 ton truck up Streatley Hill getting jammed in the process You guys make me proud to be on here

Awe shucks....

Must admit I did have a WTF moment when I saw that come up on our command and control system. Another case of lorry drivers using sat navs made for cars, and not being able to read the road conditions ahead of them. Still, at least he wasn't watching a film on his laptop at the same time, so could've been worse.

Unfortunately the ambulance services around the country are well and truly on their knees. That's why a number of FRS's are now carrying out co-responding duties. Earlier in the year I got sent to a person who had managed to set fire to themself, it took an hour and 3 minutes from the time we we're called, for the ambulance to arrive.
It's no fault of the Ambulance Service, they just don't have enough crews, and it takes too long to offload their patients into hospital.

@DaveyB getting a car through there is fun and I have to feel sorry for the people living just up the road a bit but to get to the top of the hill or the road nearby is a long way for them at the moment. PS what is FRS

FRS = Fire & Rescue Service.
It is always a nightmare for the people who get affected in such a way. Seen many a vehicle buried in a house.
