I've read with interest your T6.1 thread. Very brave and almost as impressive as @Deaky, but with less lighting.
In fact, anyone that cuts and hacks a £30k plus van apart like you guys do needs the credit they are due.
Don’t yell yourself short mate. Your van will be awesome when it’s finished.
Thanks Fish, everyone will get there eventually and have the van how they want it... I could never trust myself to cut my van though... left it to someone who was happy and had he experience of doing it
Sorry for the late reply guys,
the 19" Inovit Revolves are only 765kg load rating.
We tried to alter the design in CAD to see them to 880kg but there would have been zero concave and the spokes would need to be 15% wider which killed the design unfortunately.
Only suitable for T28's therefore.
Still inovit but a different model, Torque or Sonic, if I go 10" on the back and 8.5" on the front will the same tyres suit, thinking 275/35/20 but concerned 275 may be too wide for 8.5" rim[/QUOTE
Load ratings aside, the ideal sizes on an 8.5j/10j staggered setup would be 245/40 front and 275/35 rear.
Although if you're bothered about load ratings, You have to go 245/45 front and 275/40 rear which keeps the speedo (and rolling radius) in check and gives you the load rating.
You generally get your higher load ratings from the height of the tyre wall up to about 265 wide which is where width becomes more of a factor. You could run 265/40 x 20 all round which carry a 104XL rating, a bit more pricey though. And personally a 245 always looks better on an 8.5j wheel.
Going down the load rated route and having the same size tyres all round (265 or 275) will always result in one part of the staggered setup being over or under sized depending on the widths of the wheels involved.
I've heard of some folks running 255/35 all round and while not recommended at a max 97XL load rating, they do look the biz!
You can get a 245/40 20 with a 103 load rating, but only if you go for the specific tyre in the link below. Although as you are T28, you can just get by with the 99 as you say. Thanks Adam, as it's a T28 245/40 is coming in (just) within the load rating at 99 so I'll probably go with the 'ideal' size listed above
