Intermittent wipers not working [RESOLVED]

My intermittent wipers dont seem to be working? All other settings for the wipers work fine. My van is T6 Trendline 102 MY2019. Just had some minor electrical works carried out at the converters, spots and switches.
Is it on a separate fuse that could have blown ? Or was I not driving fast enough for them to kick in?

try poring water over the sensor on the top middle of the windscreen.

you dont need to be driving for it to work.

ie:

engine running,

wiper stalk one click up (auto mode)

set the sensitivity slider to desired position.

poor cup of water over sensor.

stand back so you don't get wet.

Thanks, I'm sure there isnt a sensor ? I read in the handbook you have to be travelling over 40mph approx for the intermittent function to work. For clarity the van doesnt have auto wipers?

gotcha . . .

if not auto wipers . . . . Then another test drive me thinks.

Loads of the older VWs had the intermittent wipers linked to the bonnet catch. Is the bonnet shut properly? If you have had work done around the front grille maybe they forgot to reconnect the loom to the bonnet switch

@Westy78 thanks for the reply, just nipped out into the Yorkshire gloom to check the bonnet and....low and behold, the bonnet was not fully closed !
I hang my head in shame for not carrying out my essential pre-journey vehicle checks !!
Puzzled as my van is 2019, not old as you say ? Could have done with some sort of warning on the MFD to be fair about bonnet security.

I wasn’t sure if the setup was the same on newer vehicles but suppose it’s some sort of safety measure??

Glad you got it sorted . . . . .

has your dash not got the MFD? . . . . to show you when doors/bonnet open?

you can also look at the indicators flash when arming the alarm via the button.

ie if the door ajar it wont lock, and wont flash the lights.

Yes, nothing was shown as far as I can remember although in the excitement of getting her back from the converters, I might have missed it !

Sorry to resurrect an old thread here but probably lots of members wouldn’t know about this otherwise. Same thing happened to me today, been checking fuses for my DRL issue, popped out in the van and no intermittent wipers, then I start thinking is this connected to the DRL issue, look in the old posts on here and behold! Sounded a bit iffy to be honest but I went out, checked the bonnet and it wasn’t latched properly.
I clicked it down, checked the intermittent and they are working perfectly. (Does have auto wipers and it’s a 19 plate so not an older van as such)
Just shows it’s well worth doing a bit of research on here.
Thanks T6 forum!

Another one for the bonnet check … I picked up my T5 from mechanics on Monday and noticed intermittent wipers not working. I use them a lot. Today, Wednesday, I messaged my son to tell him and he said possibly fuse, relay or try opening and shutting the bonnet. I did and they are now working!!! Amazing!! My T5 is 2011/12
