T6 trailer lights not working. Where's the fuse?

Thanks for letting me know! I do not have a battery monitoring module in the van. not sure what this wire is for as still working it all out! All is working on the van though (apart from the tow bar socket :(

You do have battery monitoring if you have stop start and a smart alternator, it's how your van knows if it's safe to do the stop start and do things like regenerative braking.

Thanks. Can you think of any reason for this wire then? As it came like this when I bought. And was professionally converted in 2018.

Alternatively is this having any negative impact on the van?

Thanks

So ended up fitting new plug with no luck! May be a stupid question but should the van pick up the bike rack automatically? Or should I tell it that a bike rack is on It. First time using this

Is there any switches or anything that I need to do in the van once the bike rack is on?

I know it worked last November so wondering if there is something small I am missing! Thanks!
Do you have/know how to use a multimeter?

You certainly do have a battery monitoring module, it is the device which is part of the terminal on the negative post of the battery with some small wires connected to it and disappearing into a vehicle wiring loom.
It may have an influence on the battery charging as it is the device that measures the charge / discharge of the battery and controls the charging appropriately. As you do not know what that wire is connected to there is no way of knowing how much discharge goes that way.
There is an easy way of correcting it, just move that wire to a body/chassis structure earthing point.

We see a lot of aftermarket towbar modules incorrectly wired bypassing the negative shunt.

Anything bypassing the shunt has a negative effect, the van cannot detect the drain through those connections and will misjudge the state of charge of the battery. Generally that will lead to under charging and reduced battery life.

They're best moved to the front wing bracket bolts beside the battery as matter of best practice, though they will not be causing the problem you are trying to solve.
