Is It Gone Forever!?

Some gaffer tape sticky side out on the end of a coat hanger wire...

OK, daylight brings... No joy - you can't see it with the naked eye, camera phone - you can't get your phone in at the right angle...

Dyson nozzle doesn't fit, I'm not responding re tights, sucking away etc!!

I have some large cable ties - wrapped stick tape around - fits down - but simply can't locate where the key is/key isn't sticking...

Yes I can order a new key, but it's that I know it's there and if only I could reach it nag...

I've ordered the rubber seal, I think I have to fit that and leave it in the abyss....

I would hate to think what older vans are harboring down there, although there could be many riches...

Thanks all, some interesting ideas. My fingers are literally bruised trying to squeeze into that gap but no joy - I did contemplate the kids hands, but trying to explain it in A&E wasn't worth the risk!

I got my daughter to pop her little hand down there to fish out one of my Oakley lenses that slipped down when I was cleaning them.
Daft design really, but I guess the T6 needs at least 1 drawback.

Literally just tried but my Daughter's hands don't fit down either (she's 9 so slim fingers!).

As it's a slim key I think it's sat flat at the bottom - if you could just reach down a little and touch/feel where it is it might make things easier, but simply can't get fingers down the gap to feel where it is.

Is it possible to reach up from the footwell? Is it possible it could fall out after a bumpy drive?

will a cavity wall camera fit if so a least you wont be fishing blind
That’s what I was going to suggest. I've got a cheap endoscope that I got from eBay that connects to a tablet and is ideal for this sort of thing, then you could use it to guide something sticky towards it.

Beware though, I believe Satan or some other type of monster lives in that void :geek:

put a small pipe, like 6mm fridge water pipe, or a plastic straw, taped onto the end of your Dyson nozzle.

As andys says get a USB Android Endoscope Camera, they even come with a hook attachment for this exact purpose. I have one connected to an old android phone for when I'm working in the garage and use it instead of an inspection mirror at times.

If you don't get it out
You will hear it sliding back and forth on every corner you go round

Thin strip of metal like a hacksaw blade. Locate key position and then try the thin tube taped to the vacuum cleaner as a pick up tool

OK - ordered - only trouble is it's coming from China - there were UK ones but no hook etc.

I will of course report back once arrived - feel the pressure is on!! Think I've tried most suggestions now but to no avail, at one point hand was very stuck - very - so waiting for the camera, will be safer!!

Get the thinnest metal ruler you can buy and cover both sides on one end in the most aggressive double sided tape you can get (contractor strength carpet tape is good) I used this a few times on my old T5 to fish things out.
