Its finally happened

Well, 1000 miles done and now back to reality. The van absolutely surpassed expectations and despite the roads, my mrs driving, weather and idiot drivers its only got one extra stone chip on the bonnet.

The 150 engine returned 41mpg and never missed a beat. The DSG box had to reverse up some hills and whilst there is a definite knack to applying throttle had no problems.

It survived 12 hours of bad rain without one leaky window.

Despite Cornwall having more Transporters than anywhere in the country, it stood out like a sore thumb and got loads of attention.

The only issue was that i couldnt keep it clean so that was the first thing I did once unpacked. Im very much looking forward to the next one.

A shame I missed it!

Ours needed a mega clean after almost 6 weeks of travel. We did regularly wipe/brush the inside and used brilliant lavado precision (a really good pressure washer you get at good garages) a few times but there's stuff that needs a deep home clean to put right.

Glad the van worked well; long may it last!

There was one gripe, the handle to slide the chairs forward sticks in the back of my leg when Im chilling on cruise control lol

One day Polzy I will do it again and you can wash my van for me ha
