Just about to join Team Ex-RAC

Good luck, what sort of miles do these ex RAC vans have. I'm two years in on my ex fleet van and I love it, it has cost me an absolute fortune though.

It's like joining a cult.
Mine has 110,000 on the clock. It's on the lower side of the ones I have looked at.

Yeah, they can easily become a money pit but such good, versatile vehicles.

Welcome. An absolute mine of information on here and helped me massively with my conversion
That's why I decided to join the forum. Lots of the Google searches I did on fitting windows, adding cruise control etc led me here.

Exciting times :grin bounce: .

10 days will now seem soooooo long
Definitely! I booked the test drive on Tuesday and the 5 day wait for that seemed a lifetime!

Welcome to the forum!

You might find this resource useful, it's a diagram of all the additional wiring installed by the RAC so you can tell what's what and what you might want to keep/repurpose

Awesome, thanks, it all looks pretty self explanatory but will probably come in handy. One of my first jobs will be to get the reversing camera to work so it might help there.

Hello! We've just joined the forum - we picked up an ex RAC T6 a couple of weeks ago. The forum has been really useful already. We've been getting our heads around things and after removing the racking, floor, jack mount, stuck on stripes etc. and a good clean, have now started with ripping out the RAC electrics and next week will use an angle grinder to remove the bulkhead. Lots of plans going forward and aside from fitting some rear seats, plan to do everything ourselves. :)

Welcome to the forum @landa , a very bright blank canvas! Looking forward to your updates!

Anybody hooked up the battery which came with the split relay charger with a 100watt solar panel and controller to keep it topped up when not driving for 12v appliances? T6

Welcome to the forum. The search function will be your best friend for questions relating to an ex-RAC build.

Also, don't forget to post pics when it arrives.

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help on the under seat aux battery - I want to get rid of it as I've invested in a Roamer and Victron set up and space is at a premium! But can't make heads nor tails of whether the aux battery is removable or not - from the threads I've read on here some say its fine to rip out, others say they got dash lights or lost rear lights etc. I've removed all the RAC wiring that was running to the back in conduit so all that's left under there now is a mystery to me. I've moved the battery over to the drivers seat back when I removed all the other RAC wiring. Pic attached of what it looks like under there right now. Has anyone removed the RAC aux battery entirely? Does anything need moving to my new leisure battery or to the main battery or is it all scrapable?
