Knocking / loose feeling after tracking work carried out

Had new tyres fitted and the front right was badly work on the inside edge. I had the tracking done to rectify this but after a few weeks the van feels noisy and loose somehow. What would have been undone to sort out the tracking?

I’d check your wheel bolts first.

track rod end is threaded with a locknut to tighten once adjusted - again just check its tight. You should hold / support the cast TRE when tightening the locknut. Sometimes the casting has spanner flats.

I could only get about 1/8th turn on the wheel nuts with a 600mm breaker. So happy they were not loose

It feels like something loose under my feet as I drive. Does anyone know how the camber is adjusted on a T32?

Did you find out what this was ? Mine is the same, if on flat smooth motorway/dual carriageway is fine, but as soon as i get on bumpy roads its knocking under foot. Almost as though if you lift whole front, wheels would be swinging/drop.

Not yet, I’ve bought new drop links to try first and will get the van on a lift to have a thorough check in the next week or so

Wow! Ok, I had better check those too although looking to replace as soon as there is stock available

Did you get to the bottom of this?
My van has gone light on the steering and there Is a slight vibration feeding back through the steering.
It also some time feels like it moves right like if you have hit ice,but no traction control light on at this time?
My mate has had it on the ramp in his garage and can not find anything that is worn loose or damaged, the only thing we can put it down to is the tyres they are cross climate agilis that have been on for about a year and a half.
Will have to swap over my wheels from my T5 to see if it makes a difference.

Camber is only adjustable if you have a KW kit fitted. , standard there is no adjustment and the wheel alignment machine will tell the operator it can’t be adjusted

@Johnod17 - Sorry for the delay in replying

Basically I fitted new heavy duty drop links, small improvement but not fixed

Yesterday I had time to fit the Koni dampers I bought from CRS Performance along with the new top suspension bearing mounts - After doing this the knocking / loose feeling has gone away. The ride is also hugely improved, wish I had fitted the Koni dampers years ago !

One thing I found when I took the old VW dampers off was the retaining nut for the bearing mounts was loose (both sides) I can only blame myself for that as I fitted the H&R lowering springs a couple of years back. I put a bit of Loctite 248 on this nut when I fitted it to the Koni dampers just in case. Interesting that the Koni dampers also come with a lock nut for the final top nut (that holds the damper to the suspension / body tower) - much better design in my opinion - this might help reduce any movement that could have loosened the bearing retaining nut, not sure just guessing..
