I had something similar with an Evoque once. Started out of nowhere and sounded like someone had thrown a bag of spanner’s under the bonnet. Rang my mechanic and he gave the sage advice that there is so much electronics these days under the bonnet, that it probably just needs a restart. So restarted with great trepidation. Sure enough, started fine and was never an issue again. Weird, but seemed to be some sort of engine management sync issue.
Fingers crossed for you that its something this simple and isn’t going to cost an arm and leg to resolve.
