Kombi Under seat storage

They are nearly as expensive as OEM compared to the IKEA ones.

Maybe but the Ikea ones are very thin plastic and eventually crack/split if you’re heavy handed or move them around loads. These ones are tough as old boots.

Maybe, but the Ikea boxes are quite brittle and eventually crack/split, but I guess at fraction of the price you can replace easily enough. The screwfix box is bulletproof.

I had hoped that the Screwfix ones would fit under the Triple Bench Seat in a Kombi, but sadly not, too tall!

I Built a box with 12mm plywood and fixed it to the seats with drawer runners. I carpeted to match the rest of the van with some left overs from another job. Works great and there is a lot more room than I thought. Measures approximately 65 x 36 x 24 cm. The kids built a know but I broke it accidentally, so I need to put a new one.
I upload some photos so that you get an idea, showing the box and the runners. Sorry, but my van is absolutely filthy at the moment...

Is yours on soft close runners?
If so, does it slide forward if you heavy brake?

Mines are not soft close. I built a locking mechanism with a metal bracket, because otherwise it opens and closes as you drive. No need to brake hard. If the kids leave it open you find out straight away...

So far mine does not open on its own. May be different if it's full loaded drawer.
It is quite hard to open though. Need a strap handle to be attached to make it easier for the kids to open.

ahhhh @Deaky

yeah I’m tempted and @Pauly has got me a price. I like the OEM especially after getting these seats in. Just the cost of 3no.

what do you think of them, are they worth it and do they get a lot of bits in them?

really appreciate it mate
They’re OEM, not a bodge. Nuff said.....

Did you use rivnuts to fix the sliders to the seats?

Im after a bit of inspiration, I have two kids but find that the seats in my kombi have very little storage … no where for my kids to put their drinks or their other bits and bobs.
what do you guys use?
would be ideal if there was something to go in the middle between them.

i was after the same thing.

I've attached a couple of these, but be careful what they put in there, on the side opening door , there was a thread where a guy made his own centre console from a scrapped car centre armrest i believe, carpeted, tambor door, look really smart, il try dig it out, think his sat on the floor with velcro or possibly on sliders that allowed it to slide under middle seat

Sounds great ..
I’ve seen a few things on Amazon for the centre of the seats. But wouldn’t mind seeing what others have

I made a simple carpeted box with a slot for the seat belt (so that it doesn't side off). Enough to hold toys and stuff between kids seats, wouldn't be hard to make with cup holders etc

I think that's me.
