Leaking power steering pump

Hello,

Has anyone replaced the power steering pump on on a 2017 caravelle with Aircon on it ? Is it much of a drama ?
My steering pump has just started leaking.

Regards
Stuart

Just a quick note it has got 3 bolts holding the pulley on and it also has 3 bolts holding the pump on the bracket. Two under the pulley and 1 bolt on the back by the Aircon pipes
Not a bad job

Where was the leak? Somebody else reported a leaking pump not long back.

Hi All, I don't suppose anyone knows how the p/s pulley mount comes off the pump shaft so the seal can be replaced?
Never done it but you’ll need a specialist puller, here’s a link from a Google search, may not be the correct one or the cheapest.

How long did it take you to remove the pump in the end? What did you do with the aircon pump?
I did mine and it’s a bit awkward had to cable tie the air con pump as much as much as I could out the way and the pump literally only just comes out I think over the front of subframe. Take the pulley off first tho.

I ended up doing it and I agree it wasn’t a hugely difficult job just awkward as there’s not a huge amount room

Just need the right tools and a bit of might. Annoyingly tho i changed mine and didn’t solve the issue of vibrations turning at slow speed/stationary. Then seen the high pressure hose weeping from the pump side crimp and thought bingo! And no…..I’m thinking may as well do the return hose in rack as a last ditch attempt. Videoed it from under the van and it’s pulsating and vibrating a lot so maybe worn but also could be the rack

That is the key, the budget stuff that’s found everywhere these days is often too bulky.
Yes, I had wera ratchet set and if I didn’t have it would’ve been stuck! But I have tools for my line of work
